The Inner Life

The inner life is a spiritual life. It is a life worth living. In fact, it is the only life worth living. This is because the inner life leads you to a hidden treasure within you. It leads to self discovery and the realisation of the true essence of your being. It gives you something that no one can take away from you, that grows exponentially and that leads to permanent peace. It is more precious than diamond and gold. It is the nectar that gives life a rich and varied flavor. Once you have tasted it, nothing else will be able to match it.

Unfortunately, the inner life does not show itself. It does not come to you. You have to go to it. You have to earnestly seek it. You have to be courageous and persistent in your search. You have to have the wisdom to see it. Therefore, the inner life is not for everyone. It is only for the wise.

While the outer life is all about materiality, the inner life is intangible. The outer life is about pleasuring the senses. The inner life cannot even by detected by the physical senses. The outer life is about diversity, differences and divergence. The inner life is about sameness, oneness and singularity. The outer life is about me. The inner life is about all. The outer life is about extremes. The inner life is about balance. The outer life is about change. The inner life remains unchanged.

The outer life is a futile attempt to satisfy the senses, hoping to find happiness in that attempt. The only problem with this approach for lasting happiness is that it is never lasting. Trying to satisfy the senses is like trying to fill up a black hole. The more you feed it, the more it sucks. It can never be filled. Therefore, permanent happiness cannot be achieved.

The inner life requires nothing from outside. It is complete in itself. It lacks nothing, needs nothing and wants nothing. It is contentment. It is peace. It is whole. It is abundance.

Life is created by the mind. It is experienced by the mind. Therefore, it is essential to understand the mind, to cultivate it and to master it. The inner life is only about this.
