Cultivate Your Mind

Many people begin their new year making resolutions to improve their lives. I want to remind you that the best way to do so is to cultivate your mind. Since mind is the forerunner of all states, mastering your mind empowers you to have the life you want. Needless to say, meditation is the best way to cultivate your mind. For your own spiritual progress, it is not enough to just avoid evil and do good. Purify your mind too.

Therefore, if you want to make just one resolution this year, let it be to meditate regularly. It will be the best decision you’ll ever make!

New Year, New Resolutions

Every new year, people begin by making resolutions to improve their lives – resolutions that most never ever kept. Whenever I am asked as to the best way to keep a new year resolution, my reply is that you should keep it simple. Instead of listing 5 – 10 things you want to change, just have ONE and keep it!

For example, you may want to un-clutter your life this year. Keep your life simple. Rather than trying to slot in tons of activities into your week or day, choose only 1 or 2 and focus your energy and effort into getting the most out of them. Read more

Start the New Year with a new way of thinking

It has been a while since I last wrote. Year end is always a busy time of year for most people and it was no different for me.

Every year, people make New Year resolutions which most do not keep. In fact, even before the first month of the year is up, they have forgotten – much less implemented – their resolutions. Going back into your routines in the rat race leaves you with little time for contemplations, and soon what you resolve to do at the beginning of the year is lost in the clutter of your overactive mind.

The best way to make sure you can keep your new resolution is to keep it simple. Just focus on ONE resolution. For example, last year I resolve to unclutter my life. Instead of doing too many things and spreading my energy thin and unfocused, I decided to focus on fewer activities but spend more time and energy getting more out of those activities which I want to be involved in.
